Transfer News: Brighton and Hove Albion recall Jakub Moder from Lech
By Varun Aithal
Brighton and Hove Albion have recalled their loaned out player, Jakub Moder, from Lech Poznan. The club needs some quality in their relegation struggles.
The transfer window has come at the right time for English Premier League clubs. For title contenders like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City, it is the right time to address their issues and plug holes where needed.
For relegation-battling sides such as Brighton, Fulham, and Sheffield United, it is time to get some fresh faces in to help them out in the respective battles. With a motive to address their midfield woes, Brighton have re-called Jakub Moder from Lech Poznan.
In the summer transfer window, the Seagulls acquired the services of the Polish international from Polish outfit, Lech Poznan. Brighton paid a sum of £9.5 million to get the midfielder from Lech but, Graham Potter loaned him back to his former club in order to further his development.

Back in October, the technical director of Seagulls, Dan Ashworth said:
"However, the loan back to Poznan suits Jakub and us for now – as he will play regularly both domestically and in the group phase of the Europa League, and at this stage that is better for his development(Via: Firstpost)"
One of the hottest prospects of Poland football, the 21-year-old midfielder has already featured for his national team. Jakub Moder has featured six times for the national team and has two G/A to his name.
For Lech Poznan this season, Moder has started in all 14 top-tier games and has six G/A to his name.
The box-to-box midfielder can play anywhere across the midfield and will be a great addition for Potter once he joins up with the Seagulls. The Polish international is expected to join up with the team in a week’s time.
They have failed to get going in the top-flight once again. They have just 14 points from 17 games and sit three points clear of 18th placed Fulham, who has two games in hand.
The Craven Cottage outfit hasn’t played two Premier League games as they are unable to train because of a COVID-19 outbreak within the club, postponing each of the last two fixtures to a later date.
Adding to the headache at the Falmer Stadium, Yves Bissouma is attracting a lot of interest from top-flight clubs around Europe which can put the Seagulls in serious trouble if he was to leave as early as this window.
Jakub Moder can compliment Bissouma with his physique in Brighton’s midfield. A midfield that has failed to dominate opposition teams in the middle of the park.
