No press conference, no warnings, no assistance. FPL managers will show their might but must use their luck.

3. The DGW does put us in a bit of a tricky position. Usually, FPL managers can rely on press conferences for final injury news, maybe a hint that someone is in line to start or any of the other myriad issues that can crop up in the week to affect our FPL teams. We won’t have press conferences for 16 out of the 20 teams before the season starts.

You won’t know if your big gamble (Salah vs Mane or a punt on Dele Alli) has returned to training fitter than ever before or slightly out of shape after spending lockdown munching biscuits and watching Tiger King!

4. Obviously there will be no crowds, so the idea of home advantage will be seriously questioned. Is home advantage really due to the ‘12th man’ in the stands or something more psychological?

The Bundesliga returned early and would suggest that the lack of crowds really has an impact on home form. Teams that turn their stadium into a ‘fortress’ struggled and others that rely on physicality to pump up the crowds also found the new normal a difficult place to play.

Teams like Burnley, Norwich and Villa could struggle without their fans, while the bigger teams will likely assert their dominance to an even greater extent (insert your own joke here about Man City playing in half-empty stadiums for years).
