Important Things to Consider for the FPL return

1. You have got UNLIMITED FREE TRANSFERS. It’s like you’re on a wildcard or back in August when Corona was just a beer, isolation was for weirdos who hated sunlight, and the Premier League season was about to start with all the promise and potential of every season. You can make as many changes as you like to your team, but be wary of the usual rules of transfers:

i. If you sell a player who has increased in value, you only receive half the sale profit, so if you want them back later then you will have to find some extra cash (ie if you bought Bruno Fernandes for 8.0 and he’s now worth 8.6, you only get 8.3 when you sell)

ii. Prices are still going to go up and down if anyone you own looks like they might drop in value (check the excellent fplstatistics.com) then sell and get yourself a bonus 0.1

2. We start with a DGW! And it will be the ONLY DGW for the rest of the season. If, as I have often suggested and advised, you have saved your chips for the glory days of the DGWs, now is the time to use them. Personally, I have a Bench Boost and a Free Hit left, and I will likely use the Bench Boost chip for DGW30+.

If you have a Triple Captain chip then you could gamble on it now or wait and see who comes out fastest and target them. The DGW teams are;

i. Aston Villa (Sheffield United and Chelsea both at home)
ii. Sheffield United (Aston Villa and Newcastle both away)
iii. Man City (Arsenal and Burnley both at home)
iv. Arsenal (Man City and Brighton both away)

On the face of it, Sheffield United and Man City have decent doubles, while Arsenal and Villa have some potential. But there are some issues to think about, not least Man City’s potential lack of motivation as they face no real challenge for second, no chance of a title and potentially no Champions League next season regardless of their final position!
