If Liverpool does nothing about Timo Werner openly calling them to come and get him, they don’t deserve his services. The latest in the striker’s transfer saga goes…

Timo enjoyed some time back on the football pitch on Saturday afternoon. Sadly, it wasn’t a welcome back party filled with three points and victory. They shared the spoils with SC Freiburg in the return of German football in the Bundesliga.

Afore this it was widely reported that the player has no interest in joining either of Liverpool’s rivals, Chelsea nor Man United. The two English clubs have said to share a strong interest in the player and are ready to jump in and take him on, while the Reds procrastinate.

As per recent Top Flight reports on the Timo transfer saga, a replacement is being looked at by RB Leipzig. The head of sport and development at Red Bull, Ralf Rangnick, backs an Anfield switch for Werner. The only hold up on them (Reds) officially signing the player is the transfer budget for this summer’s window.

Timo’s mind is set

"Timo Werner is desperate to join Liverpool for four main reasons: the chance to play in the Premier League, the chance to work with Klopp, Liverpool’s good relationship with Leipzig and because he feels the Reds are suited to his skill set. [Express]"

Adding fuel to the fire, Liverpool insider, James Pearce gave his input on the matter and some perspective on where the club’s at regarding a top target.

"I’ve read in some places that Liverpool definitely won’t be signing him. My information is that that’s not the case, that Liverpool are still very very keen or Timo Werne (Via: @James Pearce)"

One-way ticket or home

Timo Werner‘s story is working out much like Virgil van Dijk‘s did before he made his record-breaking move of £75 million to Anfield. If Timo is using the VVD transfer as his guidance, is he doing things wrong? Not at all.

Surprise transfers and transfers long in the pipeline have worked out well for the Anfield side. It would be silly not to consider how fruitful and worth it was for van Dijk to wait for his preferred move.

If he stays put at the Leipzig side, there will be no harm no foul. If he plans on moving on later, so be it. He is only 24-years-old. If Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool decide to wait on him, he can put money on it they will wait.

dark. Next. The Bundesliga made it look easy

If they give him no assurance that they will take him on in the near and far future, they don’t deserve to acquire his signature.
