Chelsea injury news – Mauricio Pochettino confirms Moises Caicedo is out
Chelsea faced Bournemouth in gameweek 5 of the Premier League 2023/24 Premier League campaign yesterday. Overall, it was a strong lineup fielded by Mauricio Pochettino as expected. However, there’s one significant absentee, which may have had an impact on how Poch set up tactically.
Moises Caicedo was not featured in today’s setup, with the Argentina manager confirming that the expensive midfielder has picked up a knock to his knee. Therefore, according to Birmingham Mail, he is also a doubt for next week’s fixture against Aston Villa.
It’s known that Caicedo hasn’t had the best start to his Chelsea career. Whether it’s fair or not, when he arrives with such a huge price tag, there will be people analysing his every move. Unfortunately for the Ecuador international, he’s barely put a foot right since signing for Chelsea, so he’s already being labelled a flop.
In my opinion, it’s far too early to label this signing as a flop. Let’s bear in mind that he is new to working under Mauricio Pochettino and Poch is still figuring out his best system. Therefore, fans must give Caicedo some more time to settle in before he’s given any flop tag.
What have you made of Moises Caicedo’s time at Chelsea so far? Do you think it’s early enough to label him a flop, or should fans give him more time?
