Here is the preview to the first and only match taking place indoors during June. The FA versus FIFA in a court-match concerning the transfer ban on London side, Chelsea.

In the English corner, we have the FA, who want to set the record straight for issues that took place during February last year. In the other corner, we have the world football organization, FIFA, who want to defend their righteousness in the upcoming matchup.

While the hope for the Premier League‘s “Project Restart” to kickoff as of June 1 still lives large in our hearts, next month will also play host to the court case between the FA and FIFA. The legal quarrel regarding the transfer ban on Chelsea, imposed on them last summer is up for debate. The infringement? The registration youth players under 18-years-old.

More from Chelsea

"The Football Association has taken FIFA to court over Chelsea’s transfer ban and their case will be heard next month. The Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] will consider the FA’s complaint on June 26 over FIFA’s disciplinary processes."

While Chelsea got docked time off from making transfers, the English FA were fined a lumpsum. As per the reports, “The FA was found to have breached rules in connection with minors and was fined a fee which was later reduced to 350,000 Swiss francs [£290,000] on appeal.”

"In February last year, Chelsea and the FA were sanctioned for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.It was also given six months “to address the situation concerning the international transfer and first registration of minors in football.” (Via: Sky Sports)"

Chelsea’s business since then

Chelsea has already gone through two transfer windows. The first was September 2019, where they were unable to make a transfer as the ban was in effect.

After this Blues cleaned a bit of their act up behind the scenes and had the ban lifted in good timing, which was just before the January transfer window opened. Sadly, they closed no deals before the window shut on deadline day, and went into the last half of the campaign with no new faces.

Following the closing of the winter window, Chelsea shocked the nation with the announcement of the potential arrival of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax next season. It’s also said they are not stopping there. Dries Mertens is a priority signing for them as well.

The Stamford Bridge side will too rally their rivals for top transfer targets, Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho, and now recently, Thomas Meunier.
