The page turns in the Eden Hazard legend after many days of blank turns. It’s been several days since there’s been any progress in the Chelsea and Real Madrid standoff for Eden Hazard.

Chelsea refuses to back down and is throwing in the hardball to play hardball with Real Madrid before letting go of the crowned jewel, Eden Hazard. This lays down the foundation the Belgian’s time at Stamford Bridge is up and it’s only a matter of days now before there is a deal in place for Eden.

Initial reports insinuated the Madrid party values the player at 100 million pounds but would start the bidding for him at £80m, and see where they and the Blues from London can meet between England and Spain for the transfer. Over at the Bridge, they feel their asset is worth more than the £100m Los Blancos rate him at, and feel £150m is justifiable.

Yet, Chelsea’s board are about to settle for less.

More from Premier League

It appears the halfway mark has been set by the holders, with the most recent reports from Sky saying Chelsea are willing to drop their asking price and are prepared to accept a bid from Real Madrid said to be 130 million pounds.

This is great news for Zidane and the Real team, who are looking to overhaul the entire squad at the Bernabeu. The Belgium international is worth every penny at £150m, therefore, a £30m saved could be looked at as a steal, allowing them to place that funds in another incoming player.

Hazard himself can smile and rest easy a transfer will happen. His dream move he’s been waiting for, for over two transfer windows is about to become a living reality. The only losers in this one are Chelsea.

When the transaction could ultimately take place

Wednesday is deadline day for both London clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea. All transfers in and out of the clubs have been put on hold as they approach the all-English Europa League final.

Once the 90 minutes conclude, Moves for both clubs should take place swiftly. The concentration of both teams are on the final, anything in between is not enough to take their eye off the prize. Chelsea is no longer trying to convince him to stay, but rather leave at the right price.
