Chelsea FC striker Diego Costa has urged Chelsea to improve on last season’s performance by successfully defending their title and getting to the Champions League final next term.

Scorer of 21 goals in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, Costa was an absolute revelation at a club crying out for a void to be filled up front. He hit the ground running, scoring seven goals in his first four appearances, and instantly endeared himself to supporters with his fiery style.
He was only slowed down by injury and suspensions, and as a result, he is now placing demands on himself, not just to score, but to remain healthy throughout next season.
“And while I never think about a target number of goals my challenge to myself is just to score, score, score.”
Speaking to The Sunday People, Costa said: “Our objectives haven’t changed. Chelsea are Premier League champions and this season we must try to repeat our success and fight to get to the final of the Champions League – that is a minimum for our supporters and ourselves.
“The only demand I am putting on myself for the new season is to have less problems with injury. The experience was not good during the past campaign.
“And while I never think about a target number of goals my challenge to myself is just to score, score, score. That will guarantee success and victory for Chelsea and that really is my objective.”
Costa also believes that the Premier League is much tougher than La Liga, as the top teams never get an easy run against smaller sides. He surprisingly included Liverpool in his list of favorites to win the title next season.
“The Premier League is a competition that requires more work and is more difficult than La Liga. Any club is able to beat the top side and that demands a total fight in every match.” He added.
“Who are the favourites for the Premier League title this season? That hasn’t changed. Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
“Along with the Blues, the champions will come from that group.”
The former Atletico Madrid forward also claims to be happy at Chelsea, adding that the exit rumors don’t bother him much. He also hailed Jose Mourinho, insisting that the Portuguese boss was one of the main reasons he joined forces with the Blues last Summer.

“Mourinho is a big coach and for me it was decisive when I spoke to him about joining Chelsea.
“He explained his objectives and the project in the squad and that was definitive for me.
“I am very happy at Chelsea. The rumours about me and my future are normal but they are of no interest to me.”
Costa will play a very big role next season, just as he did in the one before. And although it is hard to remain motivated after winning, his hunger and drive to succeed still remains. If the entire team is on the same wavelength as the star man, the Blues could give their fans another season to remember.
