The Brazilian was set to join the Spurs last season, after a fee of £25million was agreed with Anzhi Makhachkala, but took a detour after Jose Mourinho swooped in.
He took a bit of time to settle, but he has since flourished into one of the most important players in the Mourinho set-up. While he isn’t the scorer he was back at his former clubs, he works hard, giving 100 percent week-in week-out.
Tottenham officials were left looking a bit silly, and Chelsea supporters made everything worse with the “He hates Tottenham” chant.
The two teams will clash at Wembley on Sunday, in what could be a thrilling Capital One Cup final. Willian knows that the Chelsea faithful will be belting out his chant as much as they can, but also expects a bit of stick from Spurs’ supporters.
"“It’s part of the game and I expect to get stick from the opposition fans.”“The Spurs fans are going to try to do everything they can to make us lose our focus. We just have to concentrate, we have to focus on the game and understand that this is part of the game.”“I was negotiating with Tottenham — but negotiations go like that.”“It takes a few days and what happened was that Chelsea came in the picture and I decided to come to Chelsea.”-WillianSource: Mirror"
The player feels that he made the right decision choosing Chelsea over Spurs. He says that the club has — so far — lived up to the promises which were made to him.
"“It was my dream to play for Chelsea. I feel I made the right decision. I have no regrets for my choice.”“Chelsea have fulfilled all the promises they made and I’m very happy to be here.”"
We don’t need telling, as it is quite obvious that he made the perfect choice. His chances of winning silverware are much greater, and he certainly can’t complain about playing time.

His position has been under threat since the arrival of Colombian star Juan Cuadrado, but he remains essential to Mourinho’s plans. He is also happy to keep playing for the Portuguese boss, learning and improving as much as he can.
"“He’s a great coach. When you look at the stats, see what he has won and what he has done in football, the things that he has achieved, it speaks for itself. All of my expectations when I came have been fulfilled. He’s an intelligent coach. He taught me a lot.”“We learn something new every day. He’s a coach who understands the player, understands the player’s position.”“We always learn from him and I’m happy to play under him.”"
Willian will have the opportunity to win his first piece of silverware for the club on Sunday. Victory would surely give them an edge in the Premier League title race, but a loss would leave them badly deflated.
"“To play at Wembley and to win a cup at Wembley could be my first important trophy for Chelsea and another important trophy for my career. It’s a dream.”"
He has hurt Tottenham before and he can hurt them again by helping Chelsea to their first trophy of the season. A goal from Willian would go a long way in proving how much “he hates Tottenham!”
