Footage showed a black man being pushed off a train several times by white individuals believed to be Chelsea fans shouting “We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it.”
The incident took place before Chelsea faced Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes in a Champions League round of 16 fixture.
The video has sparked outrage, leaving the club in a terrible position. They they quickly distanced themselves, describing the actions as “abhorrent behavior,” also stating that it has “no place in football.”

As expected, this was the highlight of Mourinho’s pre-Burnley press conference today. After an official statement from the club was read, the manager said that he was ashamed when he was made aware of what took place.
"“This is not Chelsea, they are not Chelsea. Chelsea is the owner, the manager, the players, the people that work here and the true Chelsea supporters.”“We feel ashamed but maybe we shouldn’t because I refuse to be connected with these people. I am connected with Chelsea and the many good things Chelsea defend and represent”“I left Chelsea in 2007 and I couldn’t wait for the moment to be back, and it’s not because of people like this that I wanted to be back.”-Jose Mourinho"
Mourinho went on to say that he — along with all the players — was disappointed. He reiterates, that while there was a collective shame in the dressing room, they should probably not feel that way because the culprits do not belong.
"“I felt ashamed when I knew what happened but I repeat: I am a proud Chelsea Football Club manager because I know what the club is and these people don’t represent it.“The dressing room reacted the same way I reacted: with disappointment, condemning the situation and supporting the gentleman involved, but always with the feeling that we feel ashamed but maybe we shouldn’t because we don’t belong to these people, and these people don’t belong to us.”“All these years, even without me, I am sure this dressing room was always a dressing room with big principles of equality. We had everything, absolutely everything — not just [different] races but also [different] religions.”"

Chelsea also confirmed that Souleymane — the victim — will be invited — along with his family — to the next leg against PSG at Stamford Bridge in March. A kind gesture, but also with a view to put true and respectable Chelsea fans on display.
Mourinho says he does not know if Souleymane enjoys football, but he would probably welcome the opportunity to witness what real Chelsea fans are like.
"“He would feel what Chelsea is. At this moment maybe he has the wrong idea of what Chelsea Football Club is. I don’t know if the gentleman loves football but for sure he would love to feel that the people [that were involved] in the incident are not Chelsea Football Club.”"
