The Blues, who are the team that just signed Lukaku, were the team that had the least trust in him and the team where he played the worst.

He was at Chelsea for only two seasons where he was 18 in the first and 20 in the second (when he was 19 he was loaned to West Brom).

Chelsea never gave Lukaku a real chance in the first team, he only played 10 games in the EPL scoring zero goals. By this “poor” performance of Lukaku, they decided to loan him to West Brom after playing only 8 games.

He had a phenomenal run at West Brom that we will discuss later, but when he came back, opportunities were the same, even less, the Belgian only played two EPL games.

Even though he did not get a lot of playing time, Everton were very interested in him and signed him for just €28 million, giving him the No. 10 jersey.

Did the Blues regret their decision?

Well clearly, they did since they are signing him back after they realized how good the striker is.

They sold him for €28 million, now they are finishing an agreement with Inter of €115 million. This is one of their main reasons why they should regret not giving Lukaku a chance, the amount of money they lost and now must pay.

Also, Lukaku could have been a great help for Chelsea in the past Premier Leagues because of how physical he is and the scoring machine he is.

Is it time for revenge?

More from Chelsea

This is one of the main reasons why Lukaku decided to leave Inter; for a new challenge again with Chelsea.

The Belgian striker wants revenge at Stamford Bridge and is hungry to prove himself with the club, which was the first club to give him an opportunity outside of Belgium.

With the level of the Blues at this moment at an all-time high and the young players they have, Lukaku can be a huge help in Tuchel’s squad.

The position they struggled the most in last season was the striker position and with the quality of Lukaku, the position would be more than covered.

If the Blues manage to have a similar season to the last one, with Lukaku they can easily be the main contenders for the title and they might have another big run in the Champions League.

If you ask me, there could not be a better momentum than this for Lukaku to come back to Stamford Bridge.

He is probably at the peak of his career, he is mature and he is hungry for more and hungry to make a name for himself in Chelsea’s history.
