When I hear Dennis Bergkamp’s name, there’s one clip playing in my head. The clip of the iconic goal that he scored against Argentina. Either that, or his goal against Newcastle United in Arsenal colors.

It was truly something out of the ordinary. I loved watching the Arsenal man just work his magic like that inside the box. That one touch caught the whole defense off guard.

Fast forward to 2021 — Dennis Bergkamp has rightfully attained his place in the Premier League Hall Of Fame. He was just a unique player. There are so many players that were inspired by him.

Dennis Bergkamp joins Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer (who were the first two inductees), Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Frank Lampard as the sixth player to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame.

After joining Arsenal, Bergkamp inspired many foreign players to play in the Premier League

If you think about it, Bergkamp is one of the most influential players in Premier League history, in more ways than one. His style of play was always very different and unique which inspired a lot of other players to be like him.

He was also one of the first foreign players to join a Premier League team.

His performances inspired others to follow in his footsteps and then eventually, Premier League became the hub for the best players from all over the world. He had a part to play in making the Premier League as big as it is.

These were his words after getting inducted:

"“It feels special to be part of a small group of players who got the recognition of playing in the strongest league in the world. I’m honored. The Premier League most definitely made me a better player. From the moment I arrived in England I’ve embraced the English mentality and passion for football, it suited me and my style of play.Playing every game against good and tough opponents meant I improved all the time. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”"

Bergkamp enjoyed a pretty illustrious career at Arsenal. He lifted the Premier League trophy three times throughout his 11-year stay at Arsenal.

More from Arsenal

He won the FA Cup four times, the Community Shield thrice and helped Arsenal reach the Champions League final in 2005-06, where they, unfortunately, fell just short.

He won the PL Player of the month four times, and was in the PFA Team Of The Year in 1997-98. He also won the PFA Players’ Player Of The Year award that season.

There are a lot of other accolades that he picked up, and a lot of other records that he broke.

Simply put, he is one of the best players to ever play for Arsenal, and is one of the most influential players in Premier League history. From what I’ve seen, he was just a joy to watch, really.

I really hope we see players like him, but that quality is just something that you don’t get from many players.
