According to recent news and interviews, AC Milan are drawn to making Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori’s loan deal permanent.

The central defender has found his form back in Italy after he found it difficult to break into the starting XI at Stamford Bridge.

Before jetting over to Italy, Fikayo Tomori was limited to four games across all competitions for the West Londoners, starting only two of them.

More from Transfers and Rumors

The player has become a fan favorite in a very short span of time with his rock-solid performances for the Italian outfit.

Despite his top performances, AC Milan are still skeptical about buying the defender. The club believes the price is too high and are weighing up their options before making a final decision.

The Stamford Bridge outfit sent Tomori on loan with a buy-on clause inserted in his deal. Not obligated, but have the option to extend his stay at the club beyond his six-month loan commitment.

The buy-on clause forces the Serie A side to pay what they believe is a large sum of €28 million – but they are still confident they will be signing the player at the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano on AC Milan’s director and what he told to DAZN network:

"We’ll see if we pay Fikayo Tomori’s buy option… we are very happy about his start here, the price is very high. We will decide in the coming months.(Via: Fabrizio Romano)"

The ball-playing central defender has featured in seven games for AC Milan which includes two Europa League games.

In those games, he has three wins and two losses. Tomori made his Serie A debut against Bologna and won the game for his side. The player was at his ruthless best against Crotone as the Rossoneri defeated them 4-0.

The player will return to England with his AC Milan teammates and will lock horns with Manchester United in the Europa League quarterfinals.

Chelsea are looking to extend Thiago Silva’s contract before the start of the new season. Currently, Chelsea are fourth on the points table and are looking to secure Champions League football under Thomas Tuchel.
