Manchester United’s left-back conundrum continues as after Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw also enrols in the list of injuries. Manchester United doesn’t have a senior left-back in their squad right now. The only option left is the young Spanish left-back, Alvaro Fernandez after the departure of Brandon Williams to Ipswich Town on loan. Diogo Dalot was the makeshift left-back against Nottingham Forest. But, Erik ten Hag knows, in this way, his team will be in trouble without a proper left-back.

Manchester United’s List of Probable Left-Back Options

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United has a list of left-back options that they will go after before the end of the transfer market this week. Left-back wasn’t a priority signing for Man United before Luke Shaw’s injury. Here are three names that Fabrizio Romano mentioned to be in the list of Man Utd’s list for probable left-backs;

Marc Cucurella

Chelsea signed Cucurella from Brighton last year. But, the 25-year-old Spanish left-back has gone down in the pecking orders for Chelsea and is now deemed as an outcast. Erik ten Hag likes Cucurella and is open to bringing him to Old Trafford on loan from Chelsea.

Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso is another former Chelsea left-back who went to Barcelona but found himself out of the starting XI. He is considering a move away from Barcelona and Manchester United are interested in having him at Old Trafford as Ten Hag admires Alonso.

Sergio Reguilón

In 2022, Manchester United were in a transfer race with Tottenham Hotspurs to Sign Sergio Reguilón from Real Madrid. Man Utd backed away from the deal and Spurs got the player. It is important to note here that Reguilón’s preferred choice was Manchester United. Now, United has another chance to sign the Spanish left-back as he has become an afterthought at Spurs.

Joining that list of players, according to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, is the Argentine World Cup winner, Nicolás Tagliafico. Erik ten Hag would be delighted to have him at Manchester United.
