After reported rumors linking him to Tottenham, the journos linked the England international with a move to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.

It’s not the first time Lingard’s being linked with a move to the Foxes. United pursued James Maddison in the 2020 January transfer window for a potential move involving Jesse going the other way. With no breakthrough in the deal for James, they opted for Bruno instead and Lingard had to stay at Old Trafford.

We know Brendan Rodgers for bringing the best out of players. Under him, Leicester were on the verge of sealing a top-four spot but missed out on the last day of the season against Manchester United.

More from Premier League

Rodgers has gotten off to a flying start this season. The lack of squad depth affected them last term and the addition of the England international could solve this issue.

Lingard has played on the flanks apart from the attacking midfield role. Rodgers has always emphasized on high and hard pressing.

Also, City implements a strategy of quick passing in the final third, catching the opposition before they enclose themselves in a defensive shell. Jesse Lingard can fit into Rodgers’ style of play apart from suiting their wage bill.

The streets will never forget the urgency and purpose set by Jesse Lingard when brought on as a substitute at Old Trafford.

It’s hard for a fan to see an academy graduate move out of the club. However, the youngsters from the U23 and U19 setup are banging on the doors at Old Trafford making it hard to find a spot in the team.
