The French midfielder is just one season old in the Premier League.
As Tottenham Hotspur just about scrapped through to a Europa League spot for the upcoming season, a huge assignment lies ahead for Jose Mourinho to refresh the squad which has peaked since the Champions League final appearance last summer.
With Daniel Levy choosing another man at the helm instead of Mauricio Pochettino to build a new team for success, there ought to be a few important decisions to be made as a few squad members won’t fall in the manager’s plan for the future.
Unfortunately for Spurs, that player most likely looks to be their record signing Tanguy Ndombele, who left Lyon for the London outfit in a deal worth £55m a year ago. But, the transfer has not panned out as anticipated, with the French midfielder struggling to find his feet in the Premier League due to incessant injury record.

Compounding the problems for Ndombele, newly-arrived Mourinho is unconvinced by the midfielder’s dynamism, accusing the player of being uncommitted in physical duels and providing a subdued work rate in the engine room.
"I believe Ndombele can turn it around. At Tottenham I feel is every time a top player is on the bench, it’s a drama. The players and everybody else have to understand it’s not a drama. No problem with Tanguy, no story. We are a big club with very talented players. (Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho)"
By the looks of it, a player-manager divorce suits all the parties involved with Tottenham Hotspur keen to propel their rebuild phase with a substantial ground to be made with the cream of the Premier League’s crop.
As per reports, Inter Milan have provided an exit route for Ndombele from London as Antonio Conte seeks a Serie A title challenge next season. For the transfer, Daniel Levy is keen on getting at least £45m.
Going by the current economic conditions of the football industry, both teams are looking for a swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele to offset the asking price of Tottenham. As things stand, Ivan Perisic, having an admirer in Jose Mourinho, could likely be a player going in the opposite direction.
Tottenham are in talks with Southampton for the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and the deal could be concluded soon, fending off Everton’s interest in the midfielder.
