Brighton transfer news: Adam Lallana officially a Seagull after announcement
It is always only official until you see the player in their new kit. Adam Lallana passes his medical and is a Brighton player.
Happy to see a smile on Lallana’s face after several days with tears in his eyes mostly after putting an end to his Anfield career. It was announced on July 25 that Brighton took the lead in the race and Adam gave us all a massive shock in his choice.
A couple of clubs fighting in European competitions next season, such as Leicester City and Spurs were said to want the player and ready to pay his asking price. However, it was the project presented by Brighton’s technical director, Dan Ashworth, as we reported in our previous post when it was just confirmed, what the South Coast club won the Adam Lallana race.

"The player will join as a free agent on a “Bosman-style free transfer” if/when he becomes a Seagull. The deal does come as a shock as he had a handful of clubs to pick from. So why make the changeover from North West all the way to South Coast? What was so much more compelling for him?Lallana has been offered a significant and leading role at the club. The club’s technical director, Dan Ashworth is said to be the driving force in the deal, understanding the influence and technical ability the former Southampton captain has in his locker. Love for Liverpool and Klopp
Lallana probably had too much love for his previous club, Liverpool. Also being neighbours with Jurgen Klopp must have made him snub moves like Spurs and Leicester. It was almost certain he would join up with the latter.
His relationship with the man that brought him to Anfield after moving over from Southampton was still very good. Rodgers will and has always rated him highly. Brendan Rodgers was not sad that he lost his job at Liverpool but that he left Lallana there (just kidding).
Good business completed by Brighton and this is probably the first of many for Potter as they look to better their 15th place finish. Lallana will add loads of experience and quality to their midfield and attack.
Not only good with the ball at his feet (20-touch Lallana) but also deadly with his left and weaker foot from outside the box. A good addition to a team attempting to play some attractive, passing, and free-flowing football.
That makes it two Premier League winners gone after Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana left the Anfield club for new ventures in their footballing careers. Lallana will wear the same number as his best friend and ex-teammate Jordan Henderson, the number 14.
