Manchester City locking up second place

Manchester City does not have much to play for in the final stretch but extended their lead over Leicester City to seven points.

Goals from Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, and Phil Foden gave City a 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Etihad.

More from Arsenal

City were not at their best for stretches of the match but never looked like they would lose. If not for some great saves from Bernd Leno it could have been an even more lopsided result.

Given it was the first match back in months, it was a rather impressive performance and a great result. The only negative was losing Eric Garcia after a collision with Ederson. Wish him a speedy recovery and hope it’s not as serious as what it appeared to be at first glance.

With Liverpool out of reach and City still suspended from next season’s Champions League, the season will come down to the FA Cup and Champions League for Pep Guardiola’s side.

This is a great start to City getting the squad fit and back to their best ahead of the restart.
