Nick Pope: Chelsea must seal the deal for the Burnley stopper
One of the hardest teams to predict in a fixture or what type of run they would endure is Sean Dyche’s Burnley.
The Clarets have put whatever wrongdoings of last season behind them and picked up where they were before they miraculously made a European spot in the 2017-2018 season.
Sean Dyche and his men have been on one of the most inconsistent teams this season. They started as one of the clubs predicted to be demoted but soon started going against the grain and pulled off a number of surprise wins, so much so, Dyche received Manager of the Month.

The Clarets went unbeaten for a full month. They have going seven games without a loss, just before the Coronavirus spread. They only conceded three goals in those seven showings, keeping four clean sheets. Thanks to who? Nike Pope and his backline.
Nick Pope, like Dean Henderson, are having the time of their lives in between the sticks. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, he reached the summit in most clean sheets in the Premier League. Pope has already kept 11 clean sheets the season.
The overrated Joe Hart hasn’t smelt the pitch since Pope’s returned from injury. He is 28-years-old, in the English setup and ready to take on Jordan Pickford on for England’s number one spot. Gareth Southgate must look into this with Pickford who has been the cause of many goals this season.
Chelsea should take on the Englishman and should do it this summer. I’d even go one further in saying keep Kepa on the roster. He is young and has the quality to improve. With more years added on and proper competition for him in London, he could be Spain’s number one day maybe.
Other stoppers being linked with a switch to the Bridge, Dean Henderson from Sheffield United (on loan from Man United), Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid, Mike Maignan from Lille, and Andre Onana from Ajax.
