The weight of Man United will rest on attacking man, Bruno Fernandes. He must redirect the course his new club is on. It will not be easy. [P25: W9; 8D; 8L]

A chance to pull the double over Chelsea after already winning the reverse meeting. It’s been a long time since then and much has changed regarding both clubs. One prominent factor in their game is the lack of creativity for the Red Devils.

They have failed to score in the past three Premier League outings, losing once, and drawing twice. Making it even more worrisome for the manager under fire, they have only won two games on the road, while collecting as little as 12 points from the 36 up for offer.

This is accompanied by six losses when tripping around England. How long before they consider this a stat too bad for a United manager? How many away heartaches must the fans endure before there is some change somewhere at the top?

New United man to run the show

More from Chelsea

The United attack will be a brace of signings heavier with Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo [who could not join up with the club during the winter break] involved tonight.

The latter will be included to the squad but will probably feature coming off from the bench. So it is really up to Bruno to dictate the pace of their attacking game. Yet to get off the mark, but time was on his side to have a good couple of training sessions with Ole and his new teammates during this winter break.

Just a bit too early for some injury returns

The celebrations for returning players must be delayed just a bit. The wait for midfielders Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba has been a gruelling and long wait. And we will have to wait just a bit longer to see the duo in action again.

Marcus Rashford makes big strides in his comeback, but another one we will have to wait for. There would have been a lot more confidence heading into this encounter if the aforementioned were all available for selection.

Other than all the problems being endured by both clubs, we are in for a real treat. The most exciting talking point that will come from this game is Bruno’s performance in a high-profile game.
