Jürgen Klopp gives the Liverpool public the greatest Christmas gift so far. A contract extension signed that keeps the German at Anfield until 2024.

Just a day ago and the Reds were blessed with news they will be a Japanese playmaker heavy when the next transfer window opens. Subject to a medical, midfielder Takumi Minamino will be a Liverpool playing member by January 1.

Now the club hands another major boost to their fans with news of their beloved boss Jurgen Klopp renewing his contract with the club. The good times really just keep on rolling in for Liverpool.

The results on the pitch, their league position season after season, the manner in which they manage games differently and effectively. Their Champions League glory and a lot more has been simply amazing at times since the arrival of Klopp back in 2015.

It was growing frustratingly worrying for Merseyside and the Liverpool supporters. Klopp didn’t just get offered a new deal yesterday when he woke up. Reports of Klopp not penning a new deal as of yet caused its silent panic.

For months there was no word on an extension and whether he would be the Anfield boss years down the line. Thankfully for the Red Army and those neutrals who just loves seeing his theatrics on the sideline, we get to see him for many more years, till the year 2024 to be precise.

Klopp on the club’s website:

More from Liverpool FC

"When I see the development of the club and the collaborative work that continues to take place, I feel my contribution can only grow.“People see what happens on the pitch as a measure of our progress and although it is the best measure, it’s not the only measure. I have seen the commitment from ownership through to every aspect and function of the club you can think of.When the call came in autumn 2015, I felt we were perfect for each other; if anything, now I feel I underestimated that. It is only with a total belief that the collaboration remains totally complimentary on both sides that I am able to make this commitment to 2024.If I didn’t I would not be re-signing. This club is in such a good place, I couldn’t contemplate leaving. The Jürgen Klopp Liverpool project

It would have been sad to see Klopp not enjoy the vision he helped envisioned with the club, in the relocation and restructuring of their academy. It was Klopp’s idea to have the youngsters and the seniors train together at the same venue.

Klopp spoke, FSG, director Michael Edwards, CEO Peter Moore, and the club all listened carefully. There is no limit to what the German does and how he does his work. For him to be ultimately effective he needs a plan in place like Kirkby. The new Kirkby modern-day training venue aids Klopp and his practices on and off the pitch.

His man-management style, his ability to develop youth, and his outstanding Fergie quality to bring out the best in players on the fringe, are just a few of his managerial skills and what Klopp is a master of. With all this taking place the time is right for both him and the club to renew.

To add to the celebrations, he was too awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November. But this must all be cut short as they have a visit from the worst team in the Premier League this season pending for Matchday 17, the first kickoff of the day.
