English Premier League: Brighton Appoint Graham Potter as New Head Coach
Potter’s acceptance of his first Premier League job represents the latest step in a rapid rise to prominence.
Just 2 years ago, Potter had been the coach of obscure Swedish side Ostersunds (with whom he’d been since 2010) whom he had led into the Europa League from the Swedish 4th tier merely years before.

From there, he leads Ostersunds in a blistering European campaign, culminating in a surprise appearance in the round of 32, gathering an away win against Arsenal despite an overall aggregate loss.
The 44-year-old enjoyed a modest professional playing career in England before making the jump to managing in 2010.
His new role with Brighton comes as the club desperately look to kick on in the Premier League, having just avoided relegation following a horrible second half of the season.
Potter is known for his unconventional methods in training and tactics, having heavily emphasised team spirit at Ostersunds as a key component of his team building.
This appears to have aided him at Swansea, who coped well following a significant loss of playing personnel and the impacts of squad disharmony in a relegation campaign the year before.
Brighton will surely hope for more of the same from their new man.
