Chelsea: Alvaro Morata out and clears the way for Gonzalo Higuain to shine
All the movement coming from one English camp and that camp is Chelsea. No surprise as we see Alvaro Morata head in the other direction after the inclusion of Gonzalo Higuain.
Maurizio Sarri has wasted no time in his second transfer with the Stamford Bridge side. After joining late during the summer when predecessor, Antonio Conte took forever to get out of London, the ex-Naples man has taken to the transfer window to put his Chelsea side back on track.
Sarri’s tenure has seen the arrival of Joriginho to Stamford Bridge, the loan move of Real Madrid midfielder, Mateo Kovacic and the new hitman on loan from Italy, Gonzalo Higuain. In this time heading in the opposite direction was Cesc Fabregas, the Nigerian Victor Moses and most recently, Alvaro Morata.

The era of Sarri was bound to take its casualties, and it really was no confusion to see Chelsea’s out-of-favour striker head back to Spain. He’s had trouble settling in at Stamford Bridge. Since moving from Real Madrid, the Spaniard never reached the heights he was meant to and has always been the subject of a move out of London.
Nobody could argue that Morata never got a chance to prove his worth. He was granted several opportunities in Chelsea’s colours. It was the striker himself who couldn’t take them, open polls or even one-on-one.
Chelsea has a better goal threat in Higuain
The Blues new man chosen to lead the line is a proven goalscorer. Unlike Morata, Higuain has seen his fair share of epic moments. His age displays the experience he has over the many other strikers at the club. Higuain’s goal ratio is second to none out there. A massive figure of 229 goals in 407 appearances for club and country, shows he is not shy of putting the ball at the back of the net.
Morata was deteriorating on the bench at Stamford Bridge and it’s quite fair to suggest that the player was far better in his days in Spain and Italy. Yes, the Argentine must prove his worth, but he is Sarri’s boy from the past, and the main reason he got selected to come and help push for that Champions League spot.
Gonzalo Higuain will be used ahead of Olivier Giroud, no doubt. He will already know what’s needing to be done with Sarri pulling the strings. Let’s see if it was a hit or miss with the 31-year-old.
