Following this saga was one of the longest lasting story I’ve ever had to follow. Hopefully, this will be the one I write that will be the second last before it’s confirmed.

It’s been a long and demanding time for Jack Wilshere. From longterm injuries to loan spells to getting regular game time, only to be bullied into a contract not suitable for a player of his continuous problems.

At the end of all the debate between the start of last season and the end, Jack made what was probably the hardest decision in his footballing career. Deciding to leave the club you grow up at is by far the most difficult thing to be done.

Wilshere was offered a contract pay as you play. This is where the English midfielder thought not fit to continue his career at the Emirates. With the news breaking just over a fought night ago, a host of suitable clubs have already been linked with the ex-Gunner.

Is Jack to become a Jack Hammer?

Moving several days on after the news of Wilshere’s desire to leave the club, West Ham and Wolves became heavy favourites for the player – with West Ham looking like the preferred destination.

More from Arsenal

This will mount a serious sign of content with all the signings the new manager has being making at the club. Of the two – any club would do for Wilshere. No club has a better CM/CAM than what Jack is, so heading over to any of these two clubs he would walk straight into starting 11.

West Ham is in need of a stronger team to help compete for the European spot they’re trying to reach. The Englishman featured 38 times across all competitions for the Gunners last season. During his last spell at the Emirates club Wilshere collected a couple of goals and a few assists of five.

Nothing to write home about but certainly something to add. The most significant of them all was his run in the Europa League for Wenger. He was sorely missed and Arsenal performed extremely well when he played.

The deal on hand

The deal set for Jack Wilshere sets him up at the London stadium for three years on a 100k-per-week salary. A longterm contract is all Jack was probably looking for.

West Ham is undeniably taking a massive risk with an injury prone player, but the risk is worth taking for Jack. The deal is said to be close – subject to medical.
