Liverpool: Mohamed Salah comments on links to Real Madrid
By Orri Benatar
Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid rumors continues to heat up. The Liverpool star seems to be committed to his current club, despite the links away from Anfield.
These rumors start once any top player, at any top-level, starts scoring goals. Salah is doing it at an incredible pace and gaining the attention of Real Madrid. Earlier today, he told a reporter from the Spanish paper Marca, about his commitments to Liverpool.
Salah had these things too say;
Salah doesn’t wish to give anything away about his future and what his clear decision will be. That’s as expected. I think Liverpool would really need to have a terrible end to the season, to warrant a move to Madrid next year.
Results matter the most to any player. Liverpool has a chance to finish second in the Premier League, and can make a serious run at the Champions League. Los Blancos is currently fighting to stay just in the top four of La Liga and will face red-hot PSG next week, in the Champions League. Real Madrid is the pinnacle for any footballer, but not while they are playing like this.

Tactically, it wouldn’t make any sense for Salah to go to Real Madrid in next season. The deal would have to be a straight swap – with Madrid getting Salah and Gareth Bale going to Anfield. Even then, Salah wouldn’t be the major piece in Madrid’s attacking puzzle – with Ronaldo still at his peak and Marco Asensio coming through the ranks.
Mohamed Salah is having a season for the ages. He has exploded into this goalscorer juggernaut for the Reds. What if this is just a one-season wonder? Salah scored 34 goals in his two seasons with Roma, which isn’t bad but it doesn’t scream Real Madrid player. Staying at Liverpool next season is his best bet. If he continues on this scoring pace, a Madrid move becomes more then likely.
Salah and Liverpool are at Southampton this Sunday at 11:30 EST
