West Ham to sign Joe Hart with Dimitri Payet transfer money?
Are West Ham United about to sign goalkeeper Joe Hart? The Hammers have some money to spend after the sale of Dimitri Payet to Marseille.
West Ham are set to make a move to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City, according to Sky Sports. The Hammers have finally sealed a £25 million deal to send Dimitri Payet back to France, and now find themselves with some money to spend.
West Ham would like to sign Hart, but not until the summer. The 29-year-old is currently on loan from City to Serie A side Torino. The England number one is set to play in Italy until the end of the season, but is then expected to join another Premier League club in the summer.
West Ham seemingly want to be that club and it is hard to argue that Joe Hart would not be a great signing for the club. Slaven Bilic started the season with Adrian in goal, but eventually brought in Darren Randolph to replace the struggling Spaniard.

Randolph has done better since, but the acquisition of Hart would mean the 29-year-old would then automatically return to the bench. Hart has proved himself over the course of his career and has now done well in Italy.
But Pep Guardiola wants something different in his goalkeeper. Guardiola’s arrival at the Etihad spelt the end of Hart’s stay at the club, and somebody will now benefit come the end of the season.

Reports suggest Hart will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of £15 million, with the club not wanting to complicate the player’s exit out of respect for a long-standing servant. It’s unlikely, however, that City would sell to a direct rival for that price.
Which is why West Ham could now swoop and sign a top class goalkeeper. And to date, Joe Hart remains one of the best shot-stoppers around. There are gaffes to be endured and some dodgy kicking, but the shot-stopping is where he excels.
In terms of purely saving the ball, not many goalkeepers go save for save with Hart. And in today’s market, £15 million is really nothing. The Hammers board will still have £10 million over from the money they receive for Payet. It’s a no brainer and a good investment of transfer funds.

Unlike Payet, Hart is a model professional and fantastic teammate. At 29, too, Hart is in the prime of his career and offers leadership qualities to boot. It’s small money for a great player both on and off the field.
If West Ham can sign Joe Hart, then it will be money well spent.
