Liverpool have hit a brick wall in 2017, with the Red’s unrecognizable from the team that was running riot earlier this season. Here are five reasons why Jurgen Klopp’s team are struggling so much.

Not so long ago, Liverpool were among the favourites for the Premier League title. Many were lauding them as Chelsea‘s strongest rivals for the championship. But suddenly, everything has come crashing down for Jurgen Klopp and his men.

No league win in the month of January, and now dumped out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup in the same week. It kind of feels like rock bottom for the red half of Merseyside. But is it really? Where does this all end?

Liverpool currently sit in 4th place in the Premier League and are only two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. It could get worse yet before the season is out. The competition is strong enough that Liverpool could still find themselves on the outside looking in for a top four spot.

Not only City, but Manchester United are also loitering with intent. Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils have been in good form lately, just as Liverpool have lost their touch. How United would love to dump one of their rivals into the Champions League cold.

But before we see where this all ends, where did this downfall begin? Why are Liverpool in such terrible form? And where is that team everybody loved to watch in the early-goings of the campaign?

Here are five reasons that explain Liverpool’s recent struggles.
