Looking to return to the Premier League’s upper echelon after a tough season in which the Toffees finished in the Premier League’s 11th place. Missing out on European football this season, Everton are in desperate need of a rebound to once again secure their place among England’s elite.

The Daily Mail is reporting that River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori has already arrived at Goodison Park for a planned medical ahead of his £6 million move to the Premier League club. The 24-year old Argentine is expected to have signed his contract Saturday for a potential unveiling sometime in the coming week.

Joining the River Plate youth academy in 2008, Ramiro Funes Mori has made 72 appearances for the River Plate senior team since his first inclusion in 2011. This past March, Ramiro Funes Mori also made his international debut for Argentina in a friendly against El Salvador but also remains eligible to play for the United States.

Also expected to join Everton in the coming weeks is Andriy Yarmolenko. The Mirror reports that the Ukrainian international is close to sealing a £15 million move to the Liverpool based club with a medical the only piece of the puzzle missing at the moment.

The winger currently plays for Ukranian side Dynamo Kyiv. Having made 177 appearances since his arrival in 2007, the 25-year old is possibly one of the club’s greatest players. His service at the club will likely make a deal between Everton and Kyiv easier to reach.

In need of some quality signings, it is apparent that manager Roberto Martinez has gotten the club to dip into the pocket book. Adding to both the attacking and defending areas of the club has to have been one of the manager’s goals entering this season.

The signings of Ramiro Funes Mori and Andriy Yarmolenko will almost certainly meet those goals in the present and the future of the club. For Roberto Martinez’ sake, he will definitely be hoping for a positive impact sooner rather than later.

However, with both players expected to be unveiled within the next few weeks, it is unlikely either player will make much of a difference to the middle or end part of September. With Everton’s next few matches taking place against Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea, the Toffees will need all the help they can possibly get.
