A return to former employers Tottenham is definitely on the cards. They can quench Christian Eriksen’s first for Champions League football and appear a team on the up after securing two signings in Perisic and Forster while closing in on Spence along with Yves Bissouma.

Antonio Conte and Eriksen have got previous after their time together at Inter Milan with the latter struggling to make the desired impact in Serie A. While everything points toward a reunion being likely, the only question mark would lie around how the player fits Conte’s 3-4-3 system.

If the Italian manager reverted to a 3-5-2 formation, then Eriksen would suit the position to the left of the central midfield three, although that would mean disrupting the trifecta of Kane, Son and Kulusevski.

The Northern Echo, via HITC, reports Tottenham along with Manchester United and Newcastle have ‘held talks with Eriksen and his agent’.
