Newcastle United – 19th Place

Like Burnley, the Magpies only have 3 points from 7 so far, with 3 stalemates against Southampton, Leeds and Watford. With Newcastle being the talk of the town these days due to the Saudi takeover, there is renewed confidence at Tyneside.

Whether that will see the St. James’ Park faithful celebrate a 3 pointer soon is a different matter. Spurs (H), Palace (A), Chelsea (H) and Brighton (A) are then the next four games, so chances of ending the negative start and run seem unlikely for now.

Verdict:

With Steve Bruce already fearing his job, a coaching change for the Magpies seems inevitable. Assuming Spurs win as they are expected to on Sunday, it could spell the end for Bruce. With that said, the schedule is not looking too favourable for Newcastle.

Maybe Palace or Brighton could end in three points, and despite being the team that the big boys often slip up against, it’s hard to see this Newcastle side being able to cause that type of upset at this point.
