Burnley – 18th Place

Leeds, Leicester and Norwich are the opponents that have shared points with Sean Dyche’s men so far, but no wins to account for. The Clarets can take comfort in that their matches have all been very close so far, with no defeat being by more than 2 goals.

The schedule does not look too kind for Burnley, however. A trip to the champs, along with a visit to Southampton, a home game against high-flying Brentford, and a visit to London Bridge are the next four games.

Verdict:

Outside of the close games in regards to the scoreline, there are not too many positives to point at for Burnley. Just the 5 goals in 7 does not help either. Keep in mind that they were 17th last season, although 11 points separated them from relegation in the end.

With the smallest squad value in the league, this could be a long season ahead at Turf Moor. I would seldom be surprised to be here a month from now with only one or two more points added to Burnley’s tally.
