Manchester United’s son Cristiano Ronaldo returns home to the Theatre of Dreams after Juventus and the English club agreed to terms for a transfer from Italy to England.

The deal for Ronaldo sees United pay a reported £25m plus add-ons for him, a fee Juve are more than happy to receive with them not wanting to lose him for free after paying over €100m when they signed him from Los Blancos back in 2018.

For a few days, there has been no secret in Ronaldo’s desire to leave the Old Lady and the Old Lady’s wish to sell him and move him on.

Before Manchester United dropped the bombshell and confirmed their highjacking of CR7 from City, it was almost certain super-agent, Jorge Mendes, was finalising a deal for him to ply his trade at the Etihad.

It is believed that the Reds Devils had the great Sir Alexander Ferguson talk to Ronaldo to help convince him to snub City and return home.

Move on a few days and many, many, many tweets from United fans of how loyalty is dead, and Ronaldo decided home is where the heart is and Old Trafford is his home.

He will be hoping to recapture the form that saw him earn a move to Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo, in his time at United, had a high supply of goals and assists. He was an ever-present figure in attack and spoilt the Premier League with many memorable moments. His stats as a Red Devil; he scored 118 goals in 292 games.

What he is going to do at the age of 36-years-old, is yet to be seen, especially with the demand of the Premier League.

What does this mean for Manchester City?

Man City are still stuck without a prolific goalscorer to take them into the new campaign. The hole left by Sergio Aguero has still not been plugged and now they have the issue of Raheem Sterling, who knows his days are numbered at the Etihad.

If he is unhappy, he could still want to take leave from them knowing he was about to be used as a pawn in a possible Ronaldo transfer. The Cityzens have now failed in signing both, Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo – they must act quickly if they are to find a recognised goalscorer for now and the future.
