Raheem Sterling could be on his way out of the Etihad with Manchester City rumoured to be close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus – the whole transfer situation sees the potential movement of three players to three different clubs – or so they say.

Over the past couple of days Ronaldo has sent the football world into a frenzy; the five-time Ballon d’Or winner felt his time at Juve has reached its heights and it’s time for another new challenge – this time though – it could be his last major step in his illustrious career.

His proposed move is set to take him back to the place where the trend of Ronaldo the great started, Manchester. However, this time not in red but perhaps in blue – the blue that’s been so dominant over the last five years or so.

Late on Thursday night, The Top Flight published a report on the situation over in Turin; the news was quite clear and that was Ronaldo wanted out of Juve as soon as his agent could sort out a deal.

Over at the receiving end in England, Manchester City were said to be working on a contract for the world great, and that they are ready to offload, in order to make space for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Players reportedly involved in the transfer merry-go-round

Without being mentioned at all at first, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has worked himself into the frame. Rumour has it; the Gunners will send Aubameyang to join up with Juventus in Italy, while Ronaldo seizes his opportunity to get out of Turin to join Pep, and then finally Raheem Sterling gets offloaded to Arsenal.

But the merry-go-round is the biggest speculation of this impromptu Ronaldo transfer saga. The only reality is that City are the closest to signing him and Sterling, having already suspended talks on a new contract with the club, is on his way out, it’s just a matter of time.

There could even be a late, late twist in events and for all we know… Ronaldo snubs Pep Guardiola and his City side to join Ole Gunnar Solskajer and the Red Devils across the way.
