The bottom end of the Top Ten

8. Leeds United

Leeds had a stellar first season in the top division, showing the world they meant business and just how good of a manager Marcelo Bielsa is. Leeds have strengthened following their first season back, replacing Ezgjan Alioski with Barcelona’s Junior Firpo, not only that but they have kept hold of star man Raphinha.

A lot has been said about ‘second season syndrome’ and if it will affect the Yorkshire team, but with Bielsa in charge and a lot of players slowly understanding his way after a year, I can only see Leeds steadily progressing.

Leeds continues to be on the up, another top ten finish, ninth.

9. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are a mess right now and this season is almost certainly going to be transitional. No one knows how long Harry Kane will be sticking around for and when they eventually do lose him, it will be massive.

Elsewhere Spurs, have replaced Toby Alderweireld with Atalanta’s Christian Romero, but as for fixes across the pitch, there are several holes. Nuno Espirito Santos has a big job on his hands but he can no doubt steady the ship this year for Tottenham. We will also be seeing who steps up when their talisman isn’t there.

Tottenham really struggle but have enough to get top half.

10. Everton

Everton fail to reach the heavy heights upon which they set their sights on once again. The appointment of Rafael Benitez is an astute one, but not one that screams ambition.

The same goes for their signings; bringing in Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray, solid Premier League players, but not the quality the Toffees board had promised fans.

Benitez will easily guide Everton to the top half, but no more than that, tenth.
