Nuno Tavares – Right Back

Tavares is one of the few signings Arsenal have made this summer. He is naturally a left-back but with the poor performances of Bellerin lately, it is not too crazy to start Tavares at right-back.

He’s only 21 years old but he was signed because of his good performances while at Benfica and I think Arteta should give him a chance.

Also, he scored in the 2-2 tie against Rangers in the pre-season. He could offer the Gunners more with his good offensive qualities.

Ben White – Center back

More from Arsenal

Probably one of the few names you are going to see every game in the starting lineup for Arsenal this year.

After some great showing at clubs like Leeds United and Brighton, which earned him a call up to represent England at the Euro 2020, White caught Arsenal’s attention to be their main center-back.

Ben White cost 50 million euros, which is a lot of money for a center-back who is only 23 years old. He has to show the fans he is worth his value and that the Gunners can trust him to lead the team from the back.

Rob Holding – Center back

Due to the absence of Gabriel, Arteta would need to start his campaign with a player who was not expected to start. Holding, who has been at Arsenal since the 2016-2017 season would have another opportunity to prove he can be a top defender.

He already participated in 30 games last season due to all the injuries the Gunners sustained. This season it could be the same sort of role for him.

Kieran Tierney – Left Back

The Scott is going to be Arteta’s first choice at left-back all season. He had a pretty decent run last run out and him staying injury-free is vital to Arsenal’s push this term.

If this can be the first of many starts for the campaign, they will certainly be in business. Tierney is one of the few leaders the Gunners have and he leaves everything on the pitch.
