With Euro 2020 close to kicking off, I will be covering captaincy picks every matchday for the tournament. The rules of EURO 2020 Fantasy Football is different to that of the FPL and other fantasy games so I would suggest readers go through them in detail on UEFA’s official website.
With regards to captaincy, you don’t have to necessarily stick with one captain for the entire round. Each MD is spread over multiple days and you have the option of switching your captain before the first game kicks off of that particular day.
Five MDs in EURO 2020 Fantasy Football
The games in MD1 are spread across 5 days and we have the option to switch captains and make subs before the first game of that day.
More from Fantasy Premier League
- FPL: Despite red card, Alexis Mac Allister will play for Liverpool in gameweek 3
- Three Chelsea players you HAVE to sign in FPL for the 2023/24 season
- Fantasy Premier League 2023/24: The 3 best FPL defenders for your team
- 3 FPL differentials you NEED in your teams for the 2023/24 season

This gives you multiple options for captaincy, if your players do not perform well on the first day then you can switch your captain to someone playing on the next day until you are satisfied with their score.
Do keep in mind that once you remove the armband off from a player you previously had as a captain you lose their captaincy points.
So I would only consider switching captaincy to someone playing on the next day if your previous captain scored less.
There are no bonus points in the game and a slightly different scoring system so I think I would consider a score of around 7-8 to be a viable threshold that might be enough for me to move the armband to the next day unless I really fancy the player who is yet to play.
So, without further ado, here are my Top 3 captaincy picks for each day of MD1!
