Patrick Bamford reportedly extends his contract with Leeds United
Leeds United have had quite an eventful return to the Premier League. After years of not featuring in the top flight, they finally did it in 2020. They came so close on numerous occasions prior to last season, but they’ve finally done it.
A big hand in making sure that they qualify and survive in the Premier League was of their striker Patrick Bamford. He has been really, really good for Leeds all season, scoring goals almost every time the pressure has been on him.
This season has been up and down for the team, really. They don’t lose to the big teams, but they lose to comparatively weaker ones. And draws? They don’t draw at all! They have just five draws in their 35 league games.
One such example of beating big teams was the game
— a game that they played with 10 men almost throughout. They stayed back in their half, and made sure that they hit
on the counter whenever they got the opportunity.
That happened twice. They scored twice.
For how long has Bamford extended his contract with Leeds? How important is he for the club’s success?

Anyway, going back to Patrick Bamford, there has been a sort of out-of-the-blue news regarding the striker:
According to The Athletic, Patrick Bamford has extended his contract with Leeds United, which will allow him to stay for an extra year at the club.
This is definitely one piece of news that the fans would’ve been dying to hear. I mean, it’s not exactly confirmed yet, but there are rumours of it being a very low-key deal and that it has been agreed upon by all parties involved.
The striker is the most important piece in the offense for Marcelo Bielsa. He not only spearheads the attack but links up with the midfielders really well, and tracks back more often than not to support the rest of the team while defending.
He has been hugely important for Leeds this season and I am sure that he’ll continue to be, as the Leeds fight for a top ten finish this season and the next.
