Liverpool are prepping for a busy summer transfer window with many outgoings and incoming expected to happen. Mohamed Salah has been at the tip of all exit talks.

Salah has been involved in a number of exit rumours – this since the player vocalised his desire and wish to one day play in the Spanish La Liga. Since then Liverpool’s most in-form forward has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Other rumours maintain the Egyptian will be a like-for-like replacement for Kylian Mbappe at PSG, who is also rumoured to be on his way out of France to join Zinedine Zidane in Madrid.

These are all only rumours and talks yes, however, it all points to the same outcome and that is a Mohamed Salah departure from Anfield. Added to these exit reports, a new destination has been thrown in the hat, and it is a place he used to call home.

On Friday it was reported by Sport Bild that Thomas Tuchel has added Mo Salah’s name to his summer wish list. The Blues from London are, in fact, prepping for a similar summer window to the Reds with them to expect to make a couple of marquee signings.

The Stamford Bridge side has the money to spend and will look to spend big in multiple positions. The three top names being tossed around is Romelu Lukaku, Erling Haaland and most recently re-entering the frame, Jadon Sancho.

With Liverpool looking more and more likely to miss out on Champions League football for next season places like Chelsea, Madrid, etc., will become irresistible offers for their players eventually.

However, Liverpool’s business mould and sense will never allow for them to sell their best player to a rival club. If they have any hopes of fighting for top honours next season, especially the Premier League title, selling Salah to them would not be a good first step.

Also, it would be crazy if the Reds top scorer was to head back to Stamford Bridge, a place that saw him quite limited with game time. He spent two years (2014-2016) in West London, featuring as few as 19 times for them.

Yes, now Salah has made himself one of the most prolific forwards at 28 years old and back then he was up and coming. But Anfield is the place where he has enjoyed the best football of his entire career.

In 140 appearance under Jurgen Klopp, Salah has scored 93 goals with 31 assists. These goal-involvement numbers are the reason why Europe’s elite want him on their payroll and also why Klopp wants to keep him at Anfield.

However, of all the potential sales Liverpool could make this summer, Salah’s trade would make them a pretty penny and would definitely be sold for more than what he was bought.

Should Liverpool keep or sell Mohamed Salah? If not, who should be shown the exit doors rather?
