This has been a bizarre season, to say the very least. It started off late, and the schedule was congested. Of course, one factor, possibly one of the most important factors that made the season the way it was because most of it was played without fans. Many of the top Premier League clubs have seen how important the fans are.

Well, let’s be real: Every single club misses its fans. There are no two ways about it.

Unfortunately, this goes on for the away fixtures of your favourite club. But, there’s good news as well.

What has been said by the Premier League regarding the return of fans at stadiums?

Recently, it was announced that fans would be allowed in the stadium in a reduced capacity from May 17. But away fans won’t be allowed “due to varying operational challenges across the league and the need to deliver a consistent approach, while maximising the opportunity for home-fan attendance.”

More from Premier League

They say that every club is given the opportunity to host at least one home game in those two matchdays, so that no Premier League club misses out on the opportunity to play with the fans being in the stadium.

So, because of that, the FA has decided that only home fans will be allowed to enter the stadium.

It is also said in the statement that they’re constantly working to find a way to bring club football back to normal next season, including away fans being allowed to attend games. They aim to go back to full attendance next season.

This comes as a much-needed relief because really, just something about football games feels empty when there are no fans to support their club through the rough times.

The FA also states that the safety and well-being of the fans is a matter of the most importance. Honestly, that goes without saying in a time like this!

Clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United are so much better when their fans are there to cheer them to victory. It’s just the way it is. The atmosphere is electric. It’s something that all fans miss about club football due to COVID restrictions. But hey, it’s coming back soon, and hopefully, everything is back to normal as soon as possible. Or, well, at least somewhere close to normal.
