Liverpool fans sweating over Jota’s fitness – Klopp says nothing to worry about
Friday’s final training before Liverpool’s Matchday 33 kickoff, Diogo Jota‘s absence sent fans into a frenzy. However, Jurgen Klopp confirmed it was nothing to worry about.
The last thing Liverpool needs is to lose an important figure to injury. Besides them having an already long list of injuries, this would be a major setback in their hunt for a top-four finish.
The Reds enjoy an early kickoff against Newcastle United, a side who have suddenly found their grove of late. They are unbeaten in their last three Premier League outings and have only three losses in 10 EPL games.
That leaves the Reds with no room for error and they will need every player ready to fight in the final push for Champions League football. Jota is needed by Jurgen Klopp and him missing will just dampen the mood.

In Liverpool’s pre-match press conference for the Newcastle clash, Klopp dismissed any possibility that Jota will miss their important clash against a revitalised relegated battler.
When asked about the forward the manager simply replied, “Diogo is fine, Diogo is fine.” Short but good enough for those who believe Klopp won’t mislead the media.
The Portuguese forward and summer 2020 arrival has been a driving force for Klopp and the club. He has already missed out on 17 EPL outings for the Reds this season.
Prior to his lengthy setback, he was one of the Anfield side’s top scorer, only second to Mohamed Salah. In his 15 Premier League games he has scored eight goals for them.
Following his return to action, Diogo Jota scored three goals in his four starts. This stat is enough evidence to justify his early importance to a winning formula at Anfield.
Liverpool’s strong chances of putting pressure on others in the top-four race
Klopp’s men missed the chance to go fourth Monday past when they allowed Leeds United to pull a point back with a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
This week they have another opening and is arguably their best chance to sit in a better position for a top-four finish. With a win against the Magpies, the Reds will slingshot above the pair of London clubs, Chelsea and West Ham United.
Standing in their favour is that these two meet for a London derby later in the day and a direct battle for a Champions League spot will take place.
A draw would be the perfect result for the Reds. A win for either side who both sit on 55 points, sees them take fourth place back from Liverpool.
With only six matchdays left in the English Premier League, every result matters, any point helps and any slip-up by others is vital.
