Super League drama overshadows Leeds United and Liverpool 1-1 draw
Sadly, a well-contested 1-1 draw between Leeds and Liverpool was totally overshadowed by the drama of the European Super League.
With the recent stir caused by the announcement of the European Super League, it was only a matter of, when during the interview, would the reporter ask Klopp and whoever else was on media duty about the recent claims of the £3.5billion elite tournament.
Thankfully for Liverpool and the footballing world, it was James Milner. The player never spoke freely or openly but was in agreement with every fan opposed to the idea of a separate league that will involve “Europe’s elite”.

Klopp too was asked but never gave a clear answer that was as distinct as his words in 2019 when asked about the ESL. This was for obvious reasons. No employee will ever bad mouth their employers.
His job could be on the line if he doesn’t watch what he says – but hats off to Milner for being as honest as possible and still delivering a message to his own club and other clubs’ owners.
The biggest hero of the night, Patrick Bamford!
Patrick Bamford did not get on the scoresheet but delivered a quality goal worth 10 goals in his post-match interview.
Instead of just speaking about the ESL, he chose to speak on how when certain problems affect certain people, only then there is an uproar or an almost immediate response to take action.
He questioned the urgency to get to the bottom of these shenanigans by UEFA, the EPL board and others yet, racism is still an ongoing feature that plagues football and the world today.
Bamford, YOU BEAUT! Love the English striker for this and could honestly say he deserves a Nobel Prize for his straight forward reply.
He did give his thoughts on the matter but only after he made his statement on racism and the fight against it, or lack thereof.
All-in-all, if this European Super league is going to take all the attention away from top-draw Premier League matches, the league might as well just end as it stands.
