Previously, in an article dated back to January 7th, 2021, we had mentioned that the negotiations between the club and the player have hit a roadblock.
It was also rumored that the youth sensation was on the verge of signing a pre-contract agreement with a foreign outfit. Bayer Leverkusen, Sheffield United and Brentford FC were all looking to acquire the services of the player.
However, Arsenal will now keep hold of Balogun until 2025. The duration of the contract will be four years, which includes media duties as well. The only thing left to be done, Arsenal are yet to officially announce the new deal.
The 19-year-old is in phenomenal form for Arsenal U23s. He has started in all 17 games and has 10 G/A to his name. All of his goals have been non-penalty goals this season.
Owing to his consistent performances, the club has promoted him to the senior side. For Arsenal and in European competitions, Folarin Balogun has two in four games. All of his four appearances have come from starting on the bench for the senior side.
Alexandre Lacazette will be 30 in May and the club are reluctant to offer him a new contract which is set to expire in June 2022. Folarin Balogun will have a crucial role to play in the upcoming seasons for Gunners.
