Ever since his return from loan, Souttar has not disappointed his manager. After two successive loan spells with Fleetwood Town, the League One outfit, the player was ready to roar in the Championship.
He has featured in every game for Stoke City in the ongoing campaign and is currently leading the race for the Potters’ Player of the Year award.
He was also awarded the Potters Player of the Month award in October. Stoke are expected to fight till the last moment to keep their outstanding defender with them for one more season.
The player’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season so they could be forced to sell if he denies extending his contract and then they risk losing him on a free.
The 6′ 7″ tall player is a leader and his quality in the air is second to none. The Stoke City central defender has one goal and three assists to his name in the Championship so far.
Despite featuring in 37 games, the player has as little as two yellow cards and this speaks volumes in terms of his discipline.
He is also a great tackler and has won 26 tackles. These attributes have made him one of the most wanted players for next season.
It would cost the Hammers, Eagles or Wolves, a minimum sum of €4 million to lure him from the bet365 Stadium.
With Stoke City’s manager looking to retain the player, a deal is far from done. Stoke are 10 points away from a play-off position with six games to go in the EFL.
It will be interesting to see if the Potters can make it to the playoffs and if they do, what will happen with their wanted defender, Harry Souttar, and they get promoted.
