A surprising link to say the least but Aaron Ramsey, a former Gunner, is a possible replacement for the outgoing Georginio Wijnaldum.
With just a week left before players come back from their national squads for one last time for the ongoing Premier League season, clubs have started strategizing for the summer transfer window that follows.
May it be one of the top-six or the relegation battling sides, they have started homing in on their targets to set themselves up for a good preseason. And Liverpool are not excluded from this.
According to recent updates from transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, the Merseysiders are in contact with former Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey. However, he also tweeted that negotiations are yet to take place over a potential contract for the Juventus midfielder.
He tweeted:

"There’s nothing between Liverpool and Aaron Ramsey as of today, despite rumours. Former Arsenal midfielder could leave Juventus in the summer – but there are no negotiations or contacts with #LFC board at the moment."
Aaron Ramsey left Arsenal on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2019. Unfortunately, he has seen limited game time which has hampered his career.
The player has featured in 61 games out of which he has started as few as 32 games for the Old Lady. In two seasons, he has 11 G/A this campaign and 109 G/A in 11 seasons with Gunners prior to his move.
Ramsey has fallen down the pecking order with Pirlo preferring Arthur, Weston McKennie and Bentanacur all ahead of him.
Juve has continuously been linked with a sensational move for Paul Pogba which in return will not do good for the 30-year-old midfielder. An exit could be his only option by the summer.
Gini Wijnaldum’s exit requires new plans at Anfield
With Gini Wijnaldum set to depart from Anfield, Liverpool are in the hunt for an experienced midfielder and Aaron Ramsey fits the bill.
He is also being rumored with a return to Arsenal but a reunion seems unlikely as the London club is pushing hard to sign Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis.
Moreover, signing Ramsey will be pocket-friendly for Liverpool as they are set to undergo a major revamp after an awful title defense.
It remains interesting to see if the Reds go for the versatile midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Aaron Ramsey will have only two years on his contract and will be available in a cut-price deal.
