The perfect game for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool to return to winning ways and collect their first three points after four Premier League games without a victory. Sheffield United’s hopes of survival sadly fade away with each loss they pick up.
The Reds have won a game! All their fans should celebrate as they come away with a result against a team that sat back and try to hit them on the counter. Surprisingly, Klopp’s men kept a clean sheet with Adrian in between the sticks.
The man or youngster of the 90 minutes was Curtis Jones. Over the last few games, the young Scouser has been one of the better in-form players and was rewarded with the all-important opening goal of the game.
This was a must-win for both Sheffield United and Liverpool

Sheffield would have probably had a better time at Anfield with Liverpool’s away record looking far better than their home record.
In their past five games at home, they’ve only collected two points whereas on the road they’ve collected nine points when including this evening’s victory over the Blades.
Liverpool have now closed the gap between them and fourth-placed West Ham to two points, keeping their top-four hopes alive.
For Chris Wilder and his men, they slip further behind in the battle for top-flight survival. Despite an upturn in their form of late, Fulham and West Brom are making it hard for them close the points gap.
They are now 15 points away from safety with 36 points to play for. They have to go after games as they did against the Merseysiders this evening, evening though they lost.
The bravery displayed in going after a side showing low morale needs to be the way forward from now on but their defence needs to improve tremendously to keep them in the game.
The Blades attack created their opponents to go ahead and apply pressure on the previous champions but lacked in that department as well. But contributing to this was a no-nonsense Adrian, who played his first game since last year October.
He wasn’t taking any chances and made sure he was on top of their eight shots on goal. Sheffield could have been down by a few goals in the first if it wasn’t for their stopper Aaron Ramsdale who made some important saves to keep his team in the game.
A revitalising win for the Reds while Sheffield United fall further and further behind the rest of the league.
