Confirmed! Liverpool suffers yet another setback in injury-laden campaign
What did the former champions of England do to deserve such an injury-riddled Premier League season? Top or mid-table, Liverpool continues to suffer from major injury setbacks this time losing club captain Jordan Henderson to a long-term injury.
The Reds have today, Friday, confirmed the successful operation of Jordan Henderson, who suffered an injury in their 0-2 loss to Everton at Anfield last weekend Saturday.
The club further stated what was once suspected to be a minor groin issue has escalated into an adductor injury – needing imminent operation.
"Liverpool can confirm Jordan Henderson has undergone an operation on the injury he sustained during last weekend’s Merseyside derby with Everton. The captain was withdrawn after half an hour of the Anfield fixture having picked up a groin issue that left him unable to continue.Following further assessment with the club’s medical team, Henderson has successfully had a corrective procedure carried out on the adductor injury. He will begin a rehabilitation programme immediately. (Via: liverpoolfc.com)"
Is the worst behind Liverpool or is the worst yet to come for them?

Honestly, no person can really answer this question confidently, as it is has been such a rocky season for the former Premier League champions. Afore the news of the captain undergoing surgery was the news of Alisson Becker’s farther.
The Liverpool stopper lost his father to sudden death – it was confirmed on Thursday by multiple sources that the cause of death was drowning. The world, opposition fans and rivals, all paid homage to Brazil’s number one.
Him being emotionally drained and Henderson out injured is not what Jurgen Klopp needed – but such is life and in actual fact, this has been life for Liverpool all season long, taking hits on and off the field and barely getting a break.
If he does take the pitch, like many others before who have when losing loved ones, it will display his amazing professionalism as a footballer.
Jordan Henderson frustrated with the outcome
The captain took to social media to speak out on how gutted he was to have gone under the knife. Jordan stated, “obviously gutted to have picked up an injury but will do everything I can to support the team while working on my rehab”.
There is no timestamp on his return but the Anfield side are looking to be without the influential player for six to eight weeks. The Reds face dead-last Sheffield United on Sunday in their next Premier League outing.
It will be extremely interesting to see how Jurgen sets up his starting XI and who will be in defence with all his makeshift central defenders out of commission.
If they lose, then surely it is a sign there are more bad times to come and the worst is far from over. If they win, it could be the first step in the right direction and what could be the start to better days.
