Liverpool has had a rough Premier League season, which is a very unlikely thing to hear considering the quality they’ve shown over the last few years.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has had to deal with injuries and many players displaying poor form. They have lost their last four games at home and are placed in 6th place on the table standings.

Many fans are already asking, are they able to qualify for the next Champions League?

One of the biggest problems for the Reds is that the teams above them are playing at a really good level and have been a lot more consistent than them.

The clear candidates to make the top four at the moment are Manchester City, Manchester United, Leicester City, and the last place could be between West Ham and Chelsea.

All of these teams mentioned above have been on a streak of four games without losing. Liverpool would have to sneak in between these teams to have a chance to be in the next Champions League tournament.

Reds next five games

  • Sheffield United vs Liverpool
  • Liverpool vs Chelsea
  • Liverpool vs Fulham
  • Wolves vs Liverpool
  • Arsenal vs Liverpool

Some tough matches coming up for the Reds where they have to win all of them if they still hope to qualify for Europe’s big club stage.

Of their next five EPL outings, they’ve won the first leg of all of them apart from Fulham, the match which ended in a 1-1 tie at Craven Cottage.

It could get better for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool

Even though the situation looks like a disaster, it can get better. Naby Keita was already included on the bench for the Reds in the last match against Everton. It was the first time he was included in the squad after two months.

Also, Diogo Jota is expected to come back anytime soon in February. The Portuguese was injured in December and before his injury, he was one of the best players in the squad. He was easily the best signing for Kloop this campaign, providing the manager with a lot of goals and playmaking abilities.

The Reds can improve with the return of these two guys. Also, Fabinho and Henderson have been having some muscular troubles and they are too expected to come back sooner than first expected.

We will see how the team reacts with the return of a couple of key players. The Reds have the caliber to be on the top four. Klopp’s side would have to play their best football in the last few games of the season to achieve the goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

Do you think Liverpool will regain their goalscoring form and end a top-four spot next season? Will they have Champions League football for next season?
