Liverpool quite impressively beat David Moyes’ West Ham 1-3 at the London Stadium and at the forefront of it all was the brace boss, Mohamed Salah.

Have the Reds broken the 2021 curse of being unable to score? Could certainly think so after they beat the Hammers on the road by three goals to one – the one West Ham goal a consolation goal at best.

The game went 45 minutes without a goal but just after the second half got underway so did Klopp’s men get off the mark. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring with a great strike inside the 18-yard box.

The second came from something we haven’t seen from the Merseysiders in a while, a brilliant counter-attack which started all the way inside Liverpool’s box when defending a corner and ended at the back of the net past Łukasz Fabiański.

The deftest of touches and the most elegant of finishes. He searched and tried for his hat-trick but it was teammate Gini who bagged the final goal for the team.

From not scoring an EPL goal in 2021 to putting three past each of the last two opponents. A big turn around by England’s champions.

Salah still scoring and making himself a Liverpool legend

This is the second brace he’s scored in his last three games across all competitions – the first coming in their FA Cup loss to old foes, Manchester United.

This pair of goals now takes his season total to 21 goals for 2020/21, the fourth season in a row he has reached the feat. He becomes the first Red to do this since club legend, Ian Rush. A record he enjoyed alone since 1984-85.

Adding to the jubilation for the Egyptian, he still leads the Premier League top-scorers race with 15 league goals. He is three ahead of the next who are Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. The pair are joint-second with 12 scored.

light. More. Liverpool dealt another injury blow

The record-setting doesn’t stop there. He has now scored eight goals against West Ham, making them the third team he has scored three goals against in the EPL. West Ham, Watford and Bournemouth are the three clubs.

Quite the breathing room for a player who “is not enjoying himself and not at his best”. The African is on route to collecting another Golden Boot if he keeps up this form. It will be his third in four seasons.

Does Mo Salah deserve the Man of the Match award for his performance? Are the champions back in the title race?
