Does a Mbappe to Liverpool transfer depend on Messi’s arrival at PSG?
Liverpool and Real Madrid are going to battle it out for World Cup-winner Kylian Mbappe from PSG – but a lot of movement needs to happen all around the market for either of them to strike a deal.
With Kylian Mbappe still refusing to sign a contract extension, his Paris Saint-Germain departure is becoming more of a reality. Will there be a tug of war for the forward during the summer?
It was inevitable that many changes would start taking place at Le Parc des Princes with Mauricio Pochettino being appointed as the manager to take the club forward – but in the most affordable way possible.
The pandemic has really caused a stir in every aspect of life and in football, it has hit the transfer market – changing how clubs do business. There has barely been any breaking of the bank deals for world-class megastars, as well as how they pay their players has changed drastically.
Every clubs’ purse has been tightened and trying to spend only when the perfect deal is on the table for the club and the potentially new arrival.

As per The Express, the club has been running at a loss since the pandemic hit. They’ve already taken a hit of €100m loss forcing them to make the necessary cuts and whatever else to survive during these testing times.

Also, Pochettino and the club’s owner are looking to make some sensational transfers during the summer window. They want to acquire the services of the Argentine duo, Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi.
But space must be made for them to capture the pair of world-class forwards – meaning they will have to sacrifice a player or more and one player already being put on the list for a possible exit is Kylian Mbappe.
Neymar looks as if he will be more than happy to stay put in Paris if Messi was to join the club he plays for. He has openly admitted his joy about the rumours of the six-time Ballon d’Or footballer joining forces with him once again.
Liverpool and Real Madrid hoping everything falls into place for PSG
The two clubs being linked to the Frenchman continuously are the champions of England and the champions of Spain. They are ready to go all out for his signature – rumours coming from Merseyside and Spain’s capital is that they are going to do all in their power to get him at their respective clubs.
Some tabloids from the Liverpool sector suggests Jurgen Klopp has stayed in close contact with his [Mbappe] entourage, keeping tabs while trying to persuade him to choose Anfield over any other destination.
All the way over in Spain, they are ready to make their approach for him. They want to start negotiations for him already and at the soonest date – try and get a pre-agreement going before the rest of Europe’s top clubs come knocking for him.

There are a lot of pieces that need to be moved around before one of France’s brightest forwards leaves the Ligue 1 champions, PSG. With only 18 months left on his existing contract, Paris would not want to lose a future Ballon d’Or on a free transfer.
Mbappe obviously doesn’t mind being the French club’s sacrificial lamb knowing who all are interested in his signature. A stay at PSG or a move to one of the biggest clubs in England and in Spain would be a good choice for him, either way.
Mauricio would love to have two of his country’s greatest forwards of the modern-day play under him. Yet, at the same time, it is hard to understand why the ex-Tottenham boss wouldn’t want to work with Kylian Mbappe.

No team would let their best just walk out the door while not even making the slightest of efforts to keep them at the club. They will probably fight till the very end for him and eventually convince him to stay put. The transfer window blindsides us football fans all the time.
The real question Paris Saint-Germain will be asking themselves between now and the next summer transfer window is… Who will sell more playing sweaters, Messi or Mbappe?
