Transfer News: Chelsea and AC Milan agree on loan deal for defender
Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori will finally become an AC Milan player after the two clubs agreed to a loan deal with an option to buy.
The out-of-favour player will see out the rest of the season at the San Siro. If all goes well for him, there is an option to buy for €30m.
Finally, a breakthrough for Fikayo Tomori who has been looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge for regular first-team action for the past six months.
Following the arrival of Thiago Silva in London, the player saw his game time disappear.
Fikayo Tomori became the sixth-choice centre-back and has seen the least amount of minutes compared to the others in his position

Manager Frank Lampard has for the entire season opted for a Silva and Kurt Zouma central-defensive partnership.
The 23-year-old Englishman came in as the sixth-choice CB. Even as a backup fullback his opportunities are limited – with each position doubled up in personnel.
Tomori’s made the least number of appearance for Chelsea this season out of the defenders and already we are at Matchday 19 of the Premier Leauge.
Across all competitions, he has only gotten the nod four times. His first and last bit of English top-flight football came in the 2-0 loss against Liverpool at the Bridge on Matchday 2 at the start of the campaign.
And even then, Fikayo Tomori only joined in on the action due to the red card handed to Andreas Christensen at the end of the first 45 minutes of the loss.
He only got 45 minutes of EPL action. The rest came in the EFL Cup (two full 90 minutes completed) and his most recent showing in the FA Cup win over Morecambe where he came on as a late substitution.
A deal was supposed to go through during last summer’s window but the player had to wait six months for it to finally be accepted by his club. It was probably the longest six-month delay he has ever experienced.
